Throwback: Backback vs Luggage Briefcase

A girl really can’t have too much baggage, if it means I get any of these beauties its definitely a case of the more the better. These deserve to be flaunted around, photographed and coveted by the masses! I’m on board with the throwback to the back pack… I even recall being OBSESSED with one girl’s Jasmine Disney backpack in kindergarten (it even have jewels all over)! While nowadays I do find myself leaning more towards quilted and alligator/croc skin (The Row’s exclusive backpack<3) instead of polyester and plastic (which still sounds pretty awesome), there is a new style that was seen ruling the runaways as well….the luggage inspired handbags.

I love the mini, medium and mega versions of this trend, while of course when thinking of luxe luggage Louis Vuitton comes to mind, but for me right now the one that I want is MCM. Take note if you haven’t already ladies and gents this brand has been making a major comback in the recent years. Thanks to hiphop fashion forward men and women and MTLs very own Corey Shapiro, helping feed the needs and dreams of the MCM obsessed.

These bags are for women and men alike so while you could buy that special gift for the man or woman in your life instead of yourself remember…sharing is caring. Well make sure to let them know that when you run out the door with ‘their’ gift.

Diamonds Are Forever: Elizabeth Taylor Artwork

These beautiful illustrations by David Downton Chinese Rouge Magazine have not only caught my fashionable eye, but decor dreams as well. These darling drawings must be printed framed and mounted on my wall asap. Even more perfect than the (I’ll say it overdone) Andy Warhol they’d be perfect for my new office/closet (extar room in the apt & I’m using it well)!

Oh how I would love an illustarted water color drawing of myself to hang, BUT I have yet to get my fidgeting and ‘hand in front of face’ posing under control. So until then these will do abosulutely and perfectly fine!
So once again thank you and amazing job to David Downton for these fresh take pics of Elizabeth Taylor!

Black History Month ‘Fashion Edition’: IMAN

The woman was the ultimate pioneer for all black models, by landing the cover of vogue and becomign the muse for many prominent designers. She has always been a woman of ultimate class and grace; wether it be talking about the lack of diversity in the fashion world, or her inspiring humanitarian work. Iman is a woman who all girls blakc or white can look up too and follow in her fashionbale footsteps. The woman was the muse of Yves Saint Laurent, the fashion mastermind that gave us the woman pant suit, gorgeous gowns and helped launch the careers of multiple African-american models (when no one else would pt them on the runway). Like I need one more reason to be in love with Yves Saint Lauren….I don’t but I’ll add this to the list. This and for so many more reasons is why I chose to put the spotlight on mademoiselle IMAN for my Black History Month Fashion Edition. She’s gorgeous, she’s graceful, she’s Iman.

BIONIC: Love the new single, but is it too late?

15 – Christina Aguilera – You Lost Me

Okay shocker! I was watching the season finale of Entourage (which was great!) and one of the many celebrities on the episode was none other than Christina Aguilera. While her acting was like most of the celebrities who come on the show (entertaining but nobody will be walking away with an Emmy for best guest appearance) I did however LOVE and really enjoyed the song she was singing in the episode. Turns out its from her kind-of-a-flop, kind-of-not-but-can-be-agreed-not-a-huge-hit album BIONIC. Give it a listen it was nice hearing her sound like her older stuff, like Dirrrty where her look was a miss but the songs and CD itself a HUGE HIT! This should’ve been the first single not ‘I’m Not Myself’  (which she was not, she was crappy).

The 2 Christina's which one do you love more?
