Bare vs Bold: Fall Make-Up Trends

With the colder weather creeping in I am once again reminded of the changing seasons, the transition from summer to fall and jeans shorts to leather skirts. Oh but there is another important transition that comes to mind, one equally as important as a girls wardrobe…which way does a girl go with the new fall makeup trends. During the sumemr it was bright bee stung lips vs bare glossy looks, but for fall a new great debate has sprung….Vamp colored lips and bold brows vs Cherry pouts and nude lids. Oh what’s a girl to do….

BHM at NYFW. All Black Everything

NYFW has come and gone and while we’re all still sifting through the beautiful collections of designers and dreaming up new additions to our wardrobes, I will be adding additional musing to my mood board. No, not a specific collection or material or cut, but color….BLACK. Yes black as in ‘All Black Everything’ a la Jay-Z, and wearing black in order to help lead a more colourful life. But the most important reason that Black has such a powerful presence to me this month is of course Black History Month.

While yes I am appreciative that we have this month to look towards our past in order to gain perspective for our future. We must never forget, that our history no matter where it might originate from, can in no way be summed up in one month. Read More »

Kristen Stewart Named New Face For Balenciaga Perfume

Kristen Stewart has been named the new face of the yet to be named Balenciaga fragrance! I think it’s a pretty good fit considering it’s a beloved avant-garde fashion house but not too mainstream or commercial to not fit her style and look. Read More »

Mood Board/Trend Report: Slicked Back Sex Appeal

GIORGIO ARMANI S/S 2012

While obsessively looking through the Michael Pitt for Prada photos and the new campaign pics for the Spring/Summer collections something stood out….it seems the short and even long slicked back hairstyle was EVERYWHERE. From Chanel to Gucci S/S 2012 is showcasing a sexy strong hair trend that’s pretty easy to do, but should be saved for those with the face shape and cheekbones to pull it off…aka not me.

Bold Prints & Bright Lights: Vogue Germany January 2012

Monika Sawicka in Vogue Germany January 2012. The prints, fabrics, colors and lighting make me feel all warm and happy inside! I’m lusting for the mash-up of prints and thick silk cuts featured in this spread, just had to post this great editorial. Thought I’d also add my own version of how to make these looks a bit more street friendly (yes I have finally caught on to Polyvore), even if my New Year’s resolution is to dance like no one’s watching (check and mate NYE night) and dress to impress myself and no one else. Enjoy the pics, post & Polyvore! Read More »

Daphne Guinness Channels Ziggy Stardust in Vogue Germany

Always fantastic, always fresh, fashion forward, femenin…my goodness my apologies I’m dropping F-bombs left and right. That being said Daphnee guiness is being her eccentricly wonderful self in the new issue of Vogue Germany. I couldn’t help but notice the David Bowie inspired looks from the shoot, and I love it! I do enjoy me some Bowie bravado…and I do enjoy me some Daphne Guinness as well!

Kristen Stewart Rocks J. Mendel for Breaking Dawn LA Premiere

Okay, so tonight is the LA premiere of Breaking Dawn and well, I can’t help but get swept up in all this frenzy and post something about…fashion related of course.
Kristen Stewart graced the black carpet of the premiere in this gorgeous J. Mendel dark blue sequined gown, complete with a sexy thigh-high slit. The color really looks great on her paired with that gorgeous porcelain complexion.

Mature Youth: Fanning Sister’s Cover W Magazine

The Fanning sisters are on the cover of W Magazine, for what is yet another story on sisterly fashionistas (this time with them beating out The Olsens for the cover). There are a few people speaking out on how they’re too young and being too provocative, Dakota’s ads for Marc Jacobs were banned in the UK for being too suggestive with a minor. I personally love the pics, they’re mature for their age, but not at all too sexy. They look like classic beauties and elegant beyond their years. I love the looks of glitz and glam & Coco Chanel attitude. They’re talented, educated (both academically and fashionably) and has a ‘momager’ who isn’t a cracked out tyrant. So that being said, good for them, I like seeing them on the cover and I love the looks featured in this W Magazine editorial.
